President Bola Tinubu has appointed Abdu Mohammed as the Managing Director of the newly established Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO), alongside other executive and non-executive board members. This development is a significant component of the nation’s power sector reforms aimed at enhancing electricity supply management and reliability.

The creation of NISO and the accompanying appointments underscore the government’s commitment to improving the operational efficiency of Nigeria’s power sector, which has long faced challenges in ensuring consistent power distribution. The appointments were officially announced by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
