The Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation in Nigeria recently held its fifth Ministerial Briefing Session of 2025 at the National Press Centre in Abuja. The event, led by the Honourable Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris, served as an opportunity for various ministers to update the public on the accomplishments and progress of their respective portfolios.
The briefing emphasized the government’s dedication to transparency and public engagement through multimedia-enhanced interactions. Featured ministries included Foreign Affairs and Interior, highlighting Nigeria’s diplomatic efforts and transformative changes in public service access under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Seven ministers have so far participated in the 2025 briefing series, demonstrating initiatives and reforms under the Tinubu administration aimed at engaging citizens more actively in governance. The session coincided with the Nigeria Union of Journalists celebrating its 70th anniversary, underscoring the administration’s commitment to maintaining press freedom as vital for good governance.
The event highlighted ongoing government strategies to maintain transparency and involve the public in ongoing policy developments, reinforcing the administration’s focus on accountability and democratic participation.
