The Nigerian Senate has postponed its scheduled debate on the State of Emergency in Rivers State to Thursday. Initially set to discuss the matter during its Wednesday session, the Senate delayed the plenary start by approximately two hours before deciding to reschedule the debate.

The State of Emergency, imposed by President Bola Tinubu, seeks to address ongoing security challenges and governance issues within the state. Further discussions and a vote on the measure are expected at the rescheduled session.
