Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.) has assumed his role as the sole administrator of Rivers State, arriving at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Thursday. The event was attended by allies of Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, while the former governor Siminalayi Fubara’s supporters were noticeably absent.

Ojukaye Flag-Amachree, the Director of Energy Security and former chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government Area under ex-Governor Wike, was present and involved in coordinating the activities for Ibas’s arrival.

Ibas has initiated consultations with key government officials, including the Head of Service, permanent secretaries, and security chiefs, to obtain formal briefings on current state affairs. He assured the public of Port Harcourt’s calm and his commitment to reinstating stability in Rivers State. Ibas plans to address pertinent issues and provide further public updates shortly.
