A Nigerian data expert, Abel Aboh, has been appointed as a judge for the British Data Awards 2025, an event that highlights and awards excellence in data, artificial intelligence (AI), analytics, and technology in the United Kingdom. Aboh will take on the responsibility of evaluating over 70 entries across five categories, focusing on innovation and impact.
The awards, which attract more than 400 annual entries from businesses, universities, and public institutions, aim to celebrate outstanding achievements in the data sector. Aboh joins a panel comprised of industry leaders from various fields, including finance, healthcare, and technology. This highlights the pervasive influence of data and AI in today’s world.
With nearly two decades of experience in data strategy and governance, Abel Aboh has worked with prominent organizations such as the Bank of England and BAE Systems. His expertise has been recognized through various accolades, including his induction into the UK Data Hall of Fame. Beyond his corporate successes, Aboh actively mentors and educates as part of The Data Lab Scotland and serves as an advisor to DataKirk.
