According to the latest World Happiness Report 2025, Nigeria demonstrates a high propensity for **assisting strangers** but ranks lower in both charitable donations and volunteering. The report evaluates global benevolence by considering various factors, including helping strangers, charity, and volunteering.

Despite Nigeria’s high ranking for **friendliness to strangers**, especially in spontaneous acts of kindness, the country falls within the lower half when it comes to making charitable donations. This suggests a discrepancy in Nigeria’s social support landscape, particularly contrasting the informal support for strangers with more formal charitable activities.

This assessment, which covers data from 2019 to 2024, is based on findings from the Gallup World Poll and the World Risk Poll. These findings emphasize the need for enhancing the formal structure of charitable activities while maintaining the existing benevolent nature towards strangers.
