The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Nigeria plans to allocate approximately N307.6 billion for the mobilization and payment of allowances to its corps members.

This follows the recent announcement that the monthly allowance for corps members will increase from N33,000 to N77,000. The adjustment is set to take effect following the NYSC’s statement released in September 2024.

This significant increase in allowances reflects the organization’s effort to address the cost of living and provide adequate support to young graduates participating in the year-long mandatory national service.
