Kylian Mbappe is set to make a return to international football with France after a six-month hiatus, as the team prepares to face Croatia in the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals. Mbappe, who has been out due to injury and strategic rest by coach Didier Deschamps, is expected to play in the first leg of the matchup on Thursday in Split, Croatia.

The 26-year-old striker missed key international fixtures last October and November while adjusting to a high-profile transfer to Real Madrid. Despite challenges in maintaining his form at the new club and dealing with personal controversies, including a rape investigation that was ultimately closed without charges, Mbappe is optimistic about the upcoming matches.

The French national team will host the return leg in Paris at the Stade de France shortly after the Croatia game, as they aim to advance in the Nations League competition.
