A Federal Government working group has submitted a report highlighting the inadequate conditions faced by inmates in the country’s correctional centres. The report was presented to the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, and outlines the severe living conditions that inmates endure.

The group was established to assess the legal status of inmates and has emphasized the need for urgent improvements in the management and infrastructure of correctional facilities. The findings aim to prompt constructive reforms to ensure that the basic needs and legal rights of inmates are met.
