The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has formally charged Augustine Olowoniyan, a former Deputy Director of Highways at the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, and Sulaiman Muhammed, a surveyor within the same ministry, in connection with an alleged N1.9 billion fraud.

The arraignment occurred at the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Apo, Abuja, presided over by Justice Jude Onwuegbuzie. The defendants are accused of engaging in fraudulent activities that involve significant financial misconduct within their official capacities.

This case brings to light ongoing issues of corruption and financial malpractice within public service sectors. Further developments in the trial are anticipated as the court proceedings continue.
