The Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed the Nigerian National Petroleum Company’s (NNPC) preliminary objection in a high-profile lawsuit involving Dangote Refinery. The court also rejected the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission’s (FCCPC) request to join the case.

The lawsuit, valued at N100 billion, is centered on disputes related to operations and agreements concerning the Dangote Refinery, one of Africa’s largest oil refineries. The court’s decision allows the case to proceed without the intervention of the NNPC’s objections or additional parties such as the FCCPC.

This development is a significant point in the ongoing legal proceedings, with implications for the petroleum sector and regulatory frameworks in Nigeria.
