Abdulsalam Rabi’u, the recent winner of the National Qur’anic Recitation Competition from Katsina State, is currently being held for ransom. The abductors are demanding N30 million for his release.

Rabi’u gained recognition after securing victory in the competition’s Hizb 60 with Tajweed category in Kebbi State. His achievement had earlier caught the attention of Governor Dikko Umar Radda, leading to a special invitation to the Government House for recognition of his success.

The situation raises concerns over the safety of individuals gaining public attention in regional and national events across Nigeria.
