President Bola Tinubu has announced that his administration’s decision to end the fuel subsidy and implement essential economic reforms was necessary to prevent Nigeria from facing bankruptcy.

He discussed the financial vulnerabilities facing the nation during a meeting with a delegation of former National Assembly colleagues from the aborted Third Republic at the State House in Abuja.

The removal of the fuel subsidy, among other economic measures, was presented as a critical step to stabilize the country’s financial standing and improve its economic prospects.
