A major traffic disruption occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, leaving countless commuters stranded due to two separate incidents of fallen containers that paralyzed movement on Thursday. The first container blockage took place at 10:50 am on Kara Bridge, followed by a second incident at 2 pm on the Long Bridge, turning this vital roadway into a standstill.

The bottleneck effect extended back to the Otedola Bridge and continued to the Alapere area, creating a significant gridlock. In response, the Federal Road Safety Corps, alongside other agencies, initiated clearance operations to resolve the situation. Fortunately, no casualties were reported as a result of the incidents. First responders remained actively engaged at the scene to enforce traffic management and expedite the normalization of vehicular movement. Commuters are advised to seek alternative routes where possible until the road is cleared.
