In a significant breakthrough, Ghana’s Narcotics Control Commission has apprehended a suspected Nigerian drug kingpin, Uchechukwu Chima, during an intelligence-driven operation in Accra. The arrest took place on March 18, 2025, involving the seizure of a substantial quantity of illegal drugs, including 192 kilograms of cocaine and 0.42 kilograms of heroin.

These narcotics have an estimated street value of $2.1 million. The operation marks a critical step in the ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking in the region, highlighting the importance of cross-border collaboration in tackling organized crime. Authorities continue to investigate the extent of the suspect’s operations.
