The arraignment of Rev. Dr. Israel Adelani Akanji, a former pastor of First Baptist Church in Garki, Abuja, alongside five others, faced a setback as the prosecuting counsel failed to appear in court. The individuals are accused of involvement in a fraud case amounting to N620 million.
The legal proceedings, identified under case number CR/1045/24, were scheduled to commence on Thursday. Due to the absence of the prosecutor, proceedings were postponed.
